The primary responsibilities of the Project Manager in the Mining Division include the coordination and completion of assigned products, overseeing all aspects of project planning, and execution, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and summarizing project progress. The Project Manager also regularly prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects.


  • 5+ years of experience cumulative as a Project Manager/Analyst/Planner in software, electronics, or other related industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies, software development lifecycle, and problem-solving.
  • Maybe be required to travel up to (10% to 15%) of the time
  • Managed budgets from $500,000 to $10,000,000
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple project teams
  • Ability to meet defined customer-initiated deadlines
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing people in a team-based environment
  • Preferred experience in security systems or robotics industry 
  • Preferred experience in Agile process

Managing people

  • Implements Performance Management policy and processes for direct reports.
  • Oversees and approves time reporting.
  • Coordinates personnel issues with People Services including changes in resource needs, disciplinary issues, and employee recognitions.

Product Management

  • Manages and coordinates multiple priorities to accomplish product and company goals.
  • Accepts ultimate responsibility for the success or failure of assigned the products.
  • Schedules and conducts product meeting, design reviews, post product meetings, and all other project-related meetings.
  • Communicates frequently with management on project progress and process improvements.
  • Ensures that each plan developed includes a high-level schedule, a detailed list of tasks and a comprehensive budget; including labor, material, and other resources to be used on the project.
  • Manages the customer relationship in a positive, attentive, and effective manner.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates safety issues and concerns to product stakeholders (product team, customer, Safety Committee, and company officers).

Business Development

  • Identifies opportunities and responds to requests for proposals and quotations from customers and the ASI business development team, in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the gathering of preliminary customer requirements and defining the project scope.
  • Identifies and addresses potential risks associated with proposed work and identifies technical solutions.
  • Provides preliminary budget, milestones, and invoice schedules (in the budget tool) to Business Development.

Product Execution

  • Involves the project team in critical aspects of the planning process to generate buy-in and ownership.
  • Assigns specific tasks to team members and follow up to assure they are completed.
  • Holds team members responsible for the quality, safety, and timeliness of all work they are assigned to perform.
  • Promotes a positive atmosphere where team members can be happy and productive.

Problem Solving

  • Breaks down problems into components that allow for thorough analysis, and solves problems logically and methodically
  • Takes problems they cannot solve to others and seeks the assistance, knowledge, and experience of others and implements knowledge learned.

Personal Development

  • Maintains regular study habits by frequently reviewing emerging technologies that improve the design, development, and testing of software programming and applications and applies technologies learned.
